Foroyaa

Foroyaa means freedom, and it has carried the name since 1987 as the newspaper of PDOIS, a small Gambian socialist party. Founded to fight a dictatorship it outlived, it now fills most pages with courts, farm prices and public accounts rather than party doctrine, a socialist organ that reads like a national auditor. Expect accountability reporting and an economic-left lineage stated openly, with party ownership that sits lighter on the page than its history suggests.
